Is Brown Discharge Normal After Starting Metformin?

Hi, I was prescribed Metformin (500mg) to be taken once a day for the treatment of PCOS. I was taking it for about 5 days when I started to experience brown discharge. This lasted for approx 4-5 days and then stopped. Is it normal to experience this type of discharge when you start to take Metformin.?
