Is Bronchitis Contagious?

I got a cold about a week ago, with coughing and spitting yellow flegm. I saw today my family doctor, who diagnosed me with bronchitis, and put me on antibiotics, twice/day, for 10 days. Since I have a family, including small kids, although we do not live together, and only meet occasionally (Mothers Day next Sunday) I need to know if my illness is contagious, and what I should do to prevent any possible danger. Thank you for answering me to that important question. Respectfully, Liana Radian

Hi.
Noted your history of suffering from bronchitis with yellow phlegm.
With proper antibiotics, your chance of infecting others will become nil within 2 to 3 days, so do not worry if your are meeting the family members after 3 days of starting the antibiotics.
Prevention:
You have already started antibiotics.
the moment the yellow phlegm turns to colorless you can be safely meeting people.
