General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the lining of bronchial tubes. It is caused by a virus affecting the respiratory tract, which can cause a secondary bacterial infection.

Symptoms last for a few weeks and might need treatment with antibiotics.

During the acute phase, it is infective and hence, proper precautions need to be taken to prevent its spread from one person to another.

Kindly take medications as prescribed by your doctor and do the necessary follow-up as advised.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
