Is Blood And Mucus In Urine A Symptom Of Urine Infection?

I had a blocked urethra about 13 years ago. They did surgery and cleaned out a bunch of scar tissue. I am supposed to do a self cath when my urine stream slows down. I have seldom had to do it. Maybe 5 times since 2009. I did it a couple of weeks ago and had to another cath today. Now it is all bloody and mucus covered. Do you think I have a urinary infection or do you think this could just be because of the blockage I had to push through to open the urethra?

Hello, thank you very much for asking this question.

you mention that you have blocked urethra so you under go surgical process.

During removal of Cath presence of mucus and blood collect and do urine analysis that help you to know that any urinary infection is there or not??

There is chanses that during removal of Cath scar tissue with blood can come because of that blockage also.

So better to do first urine analysis test.
Take care.
Thanks.
