Is Black Spot On Lip Caused By Smoking And Will It Go On Quitting Smoking?

About two weeks ago I noticed a black spot on the inside of my lower lip. It is not raised or painful in any way. I am a smoker so obviously worry, i am quitting though, and my chosen day is just two day away!! please can you offer me any help or advice, many thanks.
