Is Beer And Marijuana Causing High Level Of AST And ALT?
hallo . i just have my blood results and i have high AST-44 and ALT-74 I'm 32 years old i don't drink heavy liker from time to time i drink beer and i smoke a marijuana every day ( one joint a day) is this my cause high level of ast and alt ???? thank you

Your findings suggests increased ALT level.
Increased ALT may be due to many reasons like hepatitis,alcohol intake,altered lipid profile, medicines,auto immune causes etc.
Increased ALT in your case may be due to beer intake.
You need few other investigations like viral markers,lipid profile and ultrasound of abdomen.
You may need to take some medicines after proper evaluation.I suggest my patients to take tablet ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg twice daily for three months.It helps in regeneration of liver cells.
