Is Bacterial Infection, Related With Loose Stools?

Hi i have had loose runny stools for the last 6 days, it only happens once a day and i have no cramping or pain. My husband had a bacterial infection in his stomach during the year which is now being treated with antibiotics, could i have caught this from him? His symptoms were quite similar. thanks Karen

Hello,

The intestine infection with some sort of bacteria or virus gives loose stools. Contamination from a husband can be possible via uncleaned hands after washroom use or others if recent past, but beyond certain days it is not possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
