Is An Itchy Mole Symptom Of Cancer?

Hi I have had a mole on my leg like about 2 inches long one inch wide on my leg my whole life. There is a little bump on it and it started itching for 2 days. I look at it after I shaved the mole and it had a whole in it the looks very circular and somewhat like a big bite. Is it serious? I think it s an insect bite but I hope it s not a type of cancer

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Mole can turn cancerous only when it starts increasing in size and starts bleeding. If this happens, then you need to take a biopsy of the mole and get a histopathology examination done to know weather it has turned cancerous or not.
Itchy mole could be due to skin irritation due to allergy. You need not be worried about it as it is not that serious. You can apply Hydrocortisone cream twice daily and take Tablet. Levocetrizine 10mg once a day for 3 days.
Hope things are clear for you.
All the best.
