Is An Asymptomatic Enlarged Gallbladder Duct A Concern?

I have had gallbladder attacks since 2009. I have been to several doctors and they said that my duct was in-larged. I should have had it removed but did not have insurance to do so. I haven t had an attack for about a year now. I am thankful for that, but what does that mean? I haven t changed my eating habits or anything else. Should I still be worried?

Hi,

Do you mean dilated gallbladder duct? It may be secondary to stone obstructing or tumor, etc. What is the ultrasound report have shown? In case of obstruction or mass you may need to undergo surgery.

Avoid fatty food and alcohol. Take soft diet. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
