Is Alcohol Consumption Safe After Taking Metronidazole?

I was taking 500mg Metronidazole for an abscess, i have now stoped taking them and will be going to a family party 44hours after stoping taking them and would like to drink alcohol. I hear the half life of Metronidazole is 8 hours so after 5.5 half life cycles is this save to drink, i know everyone says 48 hours but family members i see once a decade will be there and i wish to enjoy it ao need a good drink.

Alcohol should be avoided up to 72 hours after stopping Metronidazole. Metronidazole and alcohol are known to interact it could lead to disulfiram like reaction.
Kindly avoid taking alcohol as it may cause risk to your health.
