Nature thyroid is natural preparations derived from porcine thyroid glands. It contains desiccated (dried) thyroid which is a combination of hormones that are normally produced by your thyroid gland to regulate the body's energy and metabolism. If taken orally, its absorption is 48 to 79 percent. Deiodination of levothyroxine (T4) occurs at a number of sites, including liver, kidney, and other tissues. Since thyroid hormone occurs naturally in the body, almost anyone can take desiccated thyroid. Desiccated thyroid is not expected to be harmful to your son as the dose is very low. So don’t worry and take care in future. However if any signs of toxicity such as fast or irregular heart rate, hot flashes, sweating, sleep problems (insomnia), vomiting, diarrhea, and appetite changes, occurs then go hospital for further treatment. If no symtoms of toxicity occurs then there is no need to worry. Thanks
