Is Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea Due To Infection?

My son had loose motions after we had dinner outside in a restaurent.we gave him medicine and had no loose motions but complains of severe pain in stomach and has to go for motion which is semi loose.it has been a week.y he is having stomach pain.is it because of infection?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that diarrhea and stomach ache after eating out can be due to Stomach infection also known as Gastroenteritis caused due to eating contaminated food..
It can be due to bacteria, parasites, viruses, toxinlc chemicals etc..
I would suggest you to give him plenty of fluids and Oral Rehydration Solution..
Give him soft and semisolid diet..
Avoid fatty acnd and spicy meals..
Give Tylenol to relieve pain..
Feed him with more of foods like rice and Yoghurt, banana, cereals etc..
You should consult a Paediatrician in case if there is no relief and he can advise investigations like Blood tests, stool tests and as per diagnosis he can be advised anti diarrhea Medication, antibiotics for bacterial infection and anti parasitic Medication like Ivermectin for Parasitic infestation..
