Is Abdominal And Pelvic Pain, Headaches And Lightheadedness A Sign Of Pregnancy?

Hi there, I'm 18 turning 19 this year and I've been with my partner for over a year and a half. We've been trying to make a baby for a year now and nothing has happened. We both had chlamydia and had it treated. I missed my period for round about 2 months and all of a sudden had it 2-3 days before the end of the month and a week in the beginning of this month. For the last week I have had pain in my lower abdominal area when lying on my stomach, pain in my pevic area, head aches sometimes and feel light headed and very tired all the time. What does this mean? Could I be pregnant? Please help me I'm very concerned and I have no money to go see the doctors.

Hi
Dr. Purushottam welcomes you to HCM virtual clinic!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully gone through your query, and I think I have understood your concern. I will try to address your medical concerns and would suggest you the best of the available treatment options.

1.First of all do not panic.

2. If you have unprotected sex activity in the last cycle that you got after 2 months and if you have crossed the expected date of the cycle then you can suspect pregnancy.

3. if you happen to cross your expected date of your periods then i will suggest you to get morning's first sample of urine tested for pregnancy.

In case of doubt, you can get blood beta HCG test and USG to confirm the pregnancy.

4.For your symptoms please seek prescription support from your treating doctor for analgesics and antispasmodics like paracetamol and dicyclomine.

5. If you are planning for the baby,
I will suggest indulging in a healthy diet and regular exercise regime.
Include plenty of fruits, salads, vegetables in the diet.
Have adequate water intake; say 8 – 10 glasses per day.
Avoid deep fried foods, bakery products, and refined sugars.
Avoid substance abuse, if any.
Start on FOLIC ACID, B12 supplements at least 3 months before you plan to have baby.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
