Is Abdominal And Back Pain Worrisome For Women With A History Of Hysterectomy?

6 yrs ago I had a hysterectomy. For about 2 weeks I ve been having abdominal pain as well as lower back pain. It feels like a rubber band around my lower body and most of the pain on my right side just under my rib cage. Should I be worried about anything?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Hysterectomy does not pause discomfort under rib cage and will cause any of the discomforts at pelvic levels if the ovaries are left during surgery inside the body. An ultrasound examination of the abdomen & pelvis is best recommended to find the cause as ureter calculus, gravels in kidney or other pelvic inflammatory condition responsible for the same findings. Primary care with analgesic and plenty of liquids at present.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
