Is A Subacute Lacunar Infarct Serious And Any Preventive Measures ?

Is a subacute lacunar infarct serious, I have a brain tumour which Is now terminal, and 2 months again I had a right sided stroke which I managed to get back to normal after about a month, with feeling and movement normal but with slight imbalance problems occasionally. Had MRI which showed the lacuna infarct, is this due to the tumour and what are the chances of it happening again, what symptoms would I get? I'm 51. Thankyou. Is there any preventative measures to take.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Its very sad to hear that you are fighting a terminal brain tumor.

Subacute lacunar infarcts are really small and not serious enough by themselves. The fact that the tumor has caused it is not clear because you have not mentioned the location of the tumor and lacunar infarcts. These lacunar infarcts are due to tiny stroke like episodes. There may be slight twitching or you may not experience any symptoms at all.

Please don't get distressed by them and enjoy your life.

Best wishes.
