Is A Red Patch On The Thyroid Gland Region Indicative Of Thyroid Disease?

OK ... I m searching for info re: what could be the problem when there is a red patch of skin on the front of my neck, almost butterfly shape, about where my thyroid is. Wondering if this red patch (that comes and goes) is indicative of a thyroid issue or perhaps something else

Hello,

It will be a skin condition probably like eczema. It is not related to the thyroid gland.

As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief.

If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
