Is A Painful Lump On The Left Sole In A Diabetic Patient A Concern?

Hi Doctor, I am a 60 year old female with type 2 diabetes. At the bottom of my center left foot is some kind of lump..sometimes almost painful if I walk too much.Is it something to be concern about? I am currently taking Metformin )1 x daily) for my diabetic. Thank you

Hello,
As you know foot problems can lead to serious complications in people with diabetes. The lump may not be serious but it is worth a trip to your doctor to let them look at it and make sure. If the lump becomes inflamed, then infected it could mean big problems for you. See your doctor soon.
