Is A Hot Bath Tub Advisable For People With AF?

My husband has AF present all the time - but of unknown origin. He likes to spend hours in a VERY HOT tub and turns all red in his face. We argue abbout this as it seems to me that it can not be a good idea for his condition. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Vanessa

Hi Vanessa
I understand your concern for your husbands wellbeing. There is no associated harms in AF patients to have a hot tub bath. Although the thing that need to be take care is that they should not scald their skin with steam or hot water. Redness happens due to hot water as it dilates the blood vessels in the skin thereby increasing the blood flow causing redness.

Good luck
