Is A Hard Lump At The Injury Site On The Head A Concern?

I have MS and have been falling alot lately even while using assistive devices i.e. cane, walker. Today i was going from a store to my car using a cart for stability and the cart moved forward before me and i fell backwards slamming my head on the blacktop. Some people helped me up and I just had a headache on the back of my head that hit. Returning home I touched the spot and saw blood on my fingers and hair. Golf ball size lump, washed hair thinking would just remove dried blood. Still red, looks bloody, have mild dull headache. Should i just ice it, use asprin and monitor it? Or does it require a walkin look at/ Thanks Randy

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You should DEFINITELY go to either an URGENT CARE CENTER or ER station and be looked at by a doctor- sounds like a laceration or scrape of some sort. You likely also need a CT of the head as well if you're saying there are abnormalities. I would not wait any longer. Honestly, you probably should've gone at the time it all happened.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
