Is A Growing Complex Septated Cyst Along With Raised CA125 Levels A Cause For Concern?

I have been followed up by my gyn for ovarin cyst. First vaginal ultrasound was 2 cm simple cyst, month of May, then 2nd was June, 5 cm., returned this August, simple cyst turned into complex septated cyst. Ca 125 was done and result is 140. What does it mean. Very worried.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There is a cyst in one of your ovaries. Nothing to worry as it is benign (non cancerous) indicated by CA-125 level. Since the size is increasing, it is better to go for surgical options. It can be done by laparoscopic techniques and is a simple procedure. Consult your gynecologist and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
