Hello ma'am and welcome.

Delayed periods are a sign of pregnancy, but thats not the only thing they indicate. There are various menstrual irregularities that can result in a delayed period (eg. Uterine fibroids, polycystic ovaries, etc.).

The medication prescribed to you is for withdrawal bleeding, which is only prescribed once pregnancy is ruled out.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
