Is A Bruise In The Spine Caused By A Fall A Serious Concern?

My child fell down the stairs and now has a bruise central to his back/spine. He is suspected autistic and as such may be limited to his pain sensor and cannot talk to tell us about any pain if he does feel some. So we are slightly concerned and hope that the bruise is not a sign of anything worse

Hello.
With a bruise there, although it may only indicate a contusion to his back, he needs to see a doctor for an evaluation and to see if he needs x-rays of his spine to make sure there's no fracture here
