Is A Black Shadow Seen During A USG To Measure The Endometrial Thickness A Normal Finding?

I had an ultra sound today with a probe and they were measuring my uterine wall thickness on the ultra sound I could see a large amount on the side of my uterus and the other side was like black Shadow. Can you please give some ideas on what the radiologist is looking for? Thank you
