Is A 5 Cm Tumor In Lung Large Or Small And What Is The Prognosis?
A 5 cm tumor was located in my mother's lower left lung. It has spread to the second rib and to the adrenal gland. Is a 5 cm tumor large or small? Is it possible to determine an approximate time of existence of that tumor and an approximate prognosis for length of life with no treatment?

I can understand your mother's situation and problem.
5 cm tumour in lung is considered as large.
Apart from tumour size, most worrisome thing in lung cancer is distal metastasis to bones, adrenals, liver etc.
Since she is having metastasis in rib and adrenals, she is having stage 4 (terminal stage) lung cancer.
Prognosis is very poor.
Without treatment, life expectancy is less than 6 months.
