Is Vitamin-C Supplements And Nicotinic Acid Safe To Be Taken For Ear Infection?

sir my name is mike and i had a ruptured eardrum in two parts based on an assault of a bad person on me , a few dag like pus coming out of the ear, i have visitd the hospital since then and i have finished the first prescriptions of aminovin, actifade and if i may ask i have been further directed on new prescriptions of vitamin C 500mg and nicotinic acid 50 mg (dose is 1tab morning and night) . just wnted to ask am i on the right track here ..even though i know i have met an ENT consultant just still seeking further advice ... seeking further advice ...

in my opinion traumatic perforation of ear drum, usually heals on its own. no ear drops or anything should be instilled in ear during this period. if even after 3-4 weeks it's not healing, and perforation size is big, not likely to heal by chemical cauterizing it's margin, a myringoplasty is advisable. vit c and nicotinic acid are conservative supplement help in healing of wound, you can take it. further more I would recommend you tab Chimoral- BR for fast healing.
