Is Venlafaxine Similar To Duloxetine?
been taking duloxetine for a year and now insurance company will not cover it but said it will cover venlafaxine ER and generic SSR (Celexa, Zoloft,Prozac Paxil) are these similar? ....trying to get a hold of doctor to see which one he may recommend, but would like to get an your opinion on which one

They are not the same drug but in a similar family of medication.
Duloxetine is a SNRI medication. This means that it causes increased levels of both serotonin and norepinephrine.
Venlafaxine is also an SNRI and would be most similar to duloxetine.
Celexa, zoloft, prozac and paxil are SSRI can cause increased levels of serotonin only.
