Is Theraflu An Effective Medication For Tonsillitis?

Hi, I have tonsillitis and I have had it at least 4 times in the past year, I am right now so used to it that its not a big deal, But I have a huge week coming up with finals and I was wondering if theraflu will be effective? I was taking it a night, so I can t tell if it was sleep or the medicine that helped. What do you think?

It is not effective to treat tonsillitis.

Theraflu is a combination (acetaminophen, pheniramine, and phenylephrine) of medicine used to treat headache, fever, runny nose, sneezing, stuffy nose, sinus congestion, watery eyes, and pain caused by allergies, the common cold, or the flu.

Tonsillitis is usually caused by bacteria such as streptococci and this infection needs to eradicated by a course of appropriate antibiotics like Amoxicillin with or without Clavulonic acid along with pain killers such as Ibuprofen and frequent saline gargles.
