Is Rozerem Effective In The Treatment Of Insomnia?
My doctor recommended Rozerem for treating insomnia. I have been on Alprazolam (Xanax) for many years and he wanted me to change to Trazodone. I was not able to get any sleep with Trazodone and had a few side effects. Will Roserem work immediately? I'm in desperate need of sleep. I am a 63 yr old woman with no health problems. Thank you.

Roserem's action is quick, if effective you will see that on the first day. The fact that you have been on Xanax for a long time may make things more difficult though as withdrawal may negatively affect sleep and I wouldn't be surprised if there is the need for an additional antidepressant like Trazodone or Amitriptyline.
