Is Rocephin Safe To Be Taken For Morganella Morganii Urinary Infection?

I am having 5 injections of Rocephon (1 daily) for urinary tract Morganella. It lists such side effects as decreased blood platelets and liver functions as side effects. When I m finished with injections, how should I made sure that these effects haven t hurt me. Also, how long should I wait to make sure Morganella is out of my system to go back to my doctor to have urine tested? thank you

Hi,

Best antibiotics for urine infection can be known by getting done a culture test which shows which antibiotics work against the specific infection.

However, Rocephin does cover Morganella morganii most of the times. So hopefully this would work though we do not use Rocephin commonly for urinary infection.

The side effects of pow blood and platelets are extremely rare with Rocephin so there is no need to check for that.

To check if the infection is cleared you may do urine examination again to see for while cells and bacteria but mostly 7 days are needed for infection.
