Is Restasis Advisable For Redness In Eye While Treating Dry Eye Syndrome?

I have been on restasis for dry eye syndrome although when tested tear was normal. my question is recently I rubbed my eye an th eye turned very red like blood shot. I didn t put the drops in that eye for several rotations but unsure if I should have been putting the drops even though the eye isstillred?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The redness of eyes could be due to allergy against the eye drops or could be due to dry eye itself. It is advisable to use lubricant eye drops for dry eye. I suggest you to consult your ophthalmologist for clinical assessment to look for the cause of persistent red eye.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
