Is Pseudoephedrine Safe To Take Along With Levothyroxine?

Taking levothyroxine...Instructions say it can t be taken together with allergy medication containing pseudoephedrine. What does together mean exactly...at the same time or as part of a regimen? Can I take allergy med at night if I take levothyroxine in the morning.

I understand your concern.

It's not safe to take these medications at the same time.

Taking Pseudoephedrine along with Levothyroxine together (same time) may increase the risk of cardiovascular side effects such as high blood pressure, palpitation, chest pain, and irregular heart beat. If you have preexisting heart disease, your condition may worsen.

You may need a dose adjustment or take the allergy medication at night while Levothyroxine in the morning.
