Is Prozac Safe To Take With Luvox?
I have just switched from 80 mg. of Prozac to 300 mg. of Luvox. While the Luvox is helping my eating disorder, I don t feel as cheery as I did on the Prozac. I have just begun to add 40 mg. of Prozac to my Luvox and now feel really good! Back to moderately cheerful AND the Luvox seems to be working for the eating disorder. Since they are both similar, am I hurting myself at all by taking these two together?

It's better to avoid prozac(fluoxetine) and luvox(fluvoxamine). The combination may increase the levels of serotonin and cause a dangerous phenomenon called serotonin syndrome.
I would have suggested my patient to continue with only one drug prefarably Prozac. And adjust the dose of Prozac as this drug might also help in your eating disorder. Do consider the above points in your next consultation with psychiatrist. Thanks.
