Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Provera contains
medroxyprogesterone, which is a form of the female hormone progesterone.
It is administered to replace the hormone when your body is not making enough of it.
In women who are not pregnant and not going through menopause, this medication is used to treat abnormal bleeding from the uterus and to restore normal menstrual periods in women with
amenorrhea.
It is also used as part of combination
hormone replacement therapy with estrogens to reduce menopause symptoms.
It is also used to decrease the risk of
uterine cancer in certain women taking estrogen.
It is generally not used to postpone the periods. Pills containing
norethisterone used for postponing the periods.
Hence, kindly consult Gynaecologist before taking medications so as it would be appropriate and effective.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
