Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been taking metformin and it makes me incredibly sick...I am trying to get pregnant so I was also prescribed Clomid. The problem is my period hasn t been here since March of this year so my Clomid is just sitting here. Will taking Provera help me to have a period and produce less painful side effects than my merformin? I am looking to conceive as soon as possible.
Hello dear I understand your concern Provera is safe along with the metformin. Provera is useful in inducing the period and making the period regular. Once your period become regular, chance of the conceive will be increased. Metformin: induce the ovulation and decrease the insulin resistance Clomid: Take for 5-6 days from the 2nd to 6th day of your cycle Provera: make the uterine environment favourable for conceieve and regularise the period Consult the gynecologist and go for reproductive hormone analysis, USG scan and ovarian follicle study for better management. Avoid stress, eat healthy diet with fresh fruits and green leafy vegetable. Do regular exercise and reduce the weight if you are obese. Hope this may help you
