General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Of late, the medication 'Denosumab' (Prolia) has emerged as an alternative to bisphosphonates for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis.

If you are not comfortable with the drug or if it is causing some adverse effects, the following can be considered as alternatives.
1. Alendronate and Risedronate.
2. Ibandronate to prevent and treat osteoporosis.
3. Zoledronic Acid for treatment of osteoporosis and to help prevent it.

Kindly consult your doctor to choose the medication, which could suit your needs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
