Is Prelief And Pyridium Right Medication To Treat Burning Sensation During Urination With Tender Tip Of Penis?

Hi I saw a Urologist about some burning when pee not all the time. Tenderness of the tip of my penis and pee still come out a bit after I put pants back on after peeing. I did swab test 5 days ago and test results are negative for std. No tenderness in scrotum. No pain from prostate test. He looked at my urine sample that day and said I m dehydrated, some crystals and a spec of blood but nothing to worry yet. He told me to go buy Prelief and prescribed Pyridium 100mg for pain. Should I get a second opinion or wait 3 weeks to see him again?

You have UTI and your family physician has prescribed Prelief and Pyridium
.
Prelief is a potent drug that is routinely prescribed in over active bladder syndrome to control frequent urination and urge to pass urine where as Pyridium is urinary antiseptic.

If your symptoms are persistent ,please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefexine along with urinary antiseptCic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
