Is Pravastatin 20 Mg A Large Dose While On Lorazepam?

i am a 48 year old woman who is suffering from anxiety and panic attacks.I take .5 mg of lorazepam nightly my cholesterol is food however i was prescribe 20 mg of pravastatin. i have yet to start taking as i am concerned about side effects or contraindications. I weigh 100 lbs. is 20mg of pravastatin a large dose for me?

Pravastatin is one of the 'mildest' statins and 20mg is a rather low dosage regardless of your body weight. Other statins like atorvastatin and - even more - rosuvastatin are more potent compared to pravastatin. Statins are contraindicated only when a patient has a history of side effects with the same or other drugs from the same class (another statin). Depending on the side effect, sometimes trying another statin won't reproduce the side effect. There is neither any contraindication nor any interactions when used with Lorazepam, so please don't worry about it. Regarding the side effects, the list is too long to mention here.
