Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi , My 1.4 year old baby usually does not have a sound sleep. She wakes up every 2 hours and will be awake for 15-30 minutes. When I checked with my Pediatrician he advised me to give 5 ml of Pedicloryl syrup every night for 10 days which would solve the problem. Advise if its safe to use the syrup. Does it have any side effects ? Looking forward for your response.
In my opinion, it is not wise to use Pedicloryl syrup on a regular basis. Your daughter may be waking up every two hours because she is hungry, or needs to go to the bathroom. Try feeding your baby on demand. Offer food when she wakes up at night. It is my belief that this will help in itself. With respect to side effects, there are a few such as abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, nightmares, and headaches. So, avoid the syrup. In the event that you are giving your daughter the syrup, ensure that the dose has been adjusted as per her weight.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
