Is Omni Gel Given For Swelling Caused By Sprain?

I hurt my finger on Thursday playing basketball. I think it s a sprain as the swelling has subsided and I can move the injured finger. I have been applying omnigel and keeping a finger support on so as to avoid straining the injured finger. In addition , I have been practising making hand movement in boiled salt water. Would it be possible to play on Monday by keeping a splint on the injured finger? Also what would be the total cost in treatment if it happened to be a sprain.

Hi,

Get your xray of affected finger done in AP and Lateral view done and send me the report.

Without xray no body can say if its sprain or fracture.

Do not play basketball for about 3 weeks and stop moving your hand in boiled water.

Instead apply cold packs for 4 days.

Keep on wearing finger coat.

Thanks.

Dr.Singh.
