Is ORS Advisable For Vomiting?
Hi good evening from Fiji Is, my mother is a diabetic, with hypertension and abit of cardiac problem too, she is in her mid 70's has been weak with enlarged lungs as diagnosed my a doctor and has just started vomiting this afternoon, will oral rehydration solution help her for now before I take her to the doctor. thank yoyu

Yes,you can give ORS to your mother.
ORS not only contains sugar but also various electrolytes,which get lost in vomiting.
Even if blood sugar level goes up a bit,you should not worry about that because taking care of hydration and electrolytes is much more important at the moment rather than worrying about HYPERGLYCEMIA.
