Is Normaxin A Safe Medication For Loose Motions?

Hi sir, I have been diagnosed with IBS doctor in GANGARAM HOSPITAL DELHI gave ne normaxin 20. I had urgency to go to washroom in morning had diarrhea and stomack pain along with gas. And had feeling to go washroom again and again my condition was very serious I reduced 12kg in 10 days due to loose motions which was not stopping. After taking famocid and normaxin 20 my issue got on track. But if I do any lifting work then I get stomach pain and if I eat any hard food then I get loose motions and pain. 1) So I want to know how long can I continue normaxin without side effects?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
Normaxin contains the active ingredients Chlordiazepoxide and Clidinium, it is safe & most commonly used to treat gastro-intestinal problems, such as ulcers and IBS.
This medication must be taken regularly to be effective for IBS. Do not skip doses even if you feel that you do not need them. Do not take chlordiazepoxide and clidinium bromide for more than 4 months or stop taking this medication without consulting to your doctor. Stopping the drug suddenly can worsen your condition and cause withdrawal symptoms (anxiousness, sleeplessness, and irritability). Your doctor probably will decrease your dose gradually.

It's not clear what causes irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).Here are other remedies that can be taken to treat IBS

1. Eliminating high-gas foods such items as carbonated beverages, vegetables — especially cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower .
2.Some people are sensitive to types of carbohydrates called FODMAPs .They are found in certain grains, vegetables, fruits and dairy products such as wheat, rye, barley, onion, garlic, apples, apricots, avocados, blackberries, cherries, etc. In some patient avoiding these food shows improvement in symptoms
3.Taking fiber supplements, such as psyllium or methylcellulose, with fluids may help.
4. In some people improvement in diarrhea symptoms occurs, if they stop eating gluten (wheat, barley and rye)

Don't worry you would be fine
Hoping your query is solved.
