Is Nicardia A Better Medicine Than Prescribed Novac For Controlling High Blood Pressure?

My mother suffers from high blood pressure, prior to last week she was taking Lisinopril 10 mg. As of today, her doctor has changed her medication to what my mother calls Novac (amphidiphil) or something of that nature. Her BP as of now is 150/90 which is high for her as her BP is normally ranges in the 120 s/70 s. She has not taken the Novac yet as it is still being filled ay the pharmacy. What suggestions can you make for a natural resolve until her medication is ready? Also, a family member has recommended Nicardia, in your experience, is Nicardia a better medication then the Novac? I know medications are prescribed and tailored to the patients specific needs, however any general advice you can offer would be appreciated.

Hi,

As you said rightly BP drugs should be individualized. The drug that control BP without any major side effects is the best. Amlodipine is quite good. So she should take as is advised. A BP of 150/90 is not to be worried about. It does not cause any major harm raised for a few days until the drugs are refilled.

So just avoid added salt, exercise, and lose weight. These are the best for everyone. BP if little high for a few days does not cause any major harm. So be relaxed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
