Hi,

1. Your actual dose of Niacin is very high to be used on long term.

2. As you are reporting that your cholesterol numbers are well controlled, you should continue use lower dosage of Niacin until you stop it.

3. Lower dose will protect from long-term side effects of Niacin including diabetes or gout.

4. There is no strong clinical evidence to get benefits for arthritic changes. There is no need to continue taking niacin all life long if your diet is rich in foods high in niacin or other vitamins.

All the best!
