Is Minocyclone As Effective As Doxycycline In Treating Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever?
Is minocyclone in the same family of drugs as doxycycline and is it just as effective in the treatment of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever? I m asking b/c my 40 yo son started minocyclone Sat. and was called today and told initial blood test was positive for RMSF but the lab wanted to run more tests. Thank you

Minocycline is also a drug used to treat infections. But Doxycycline is the drug of choice for the condition you have mentioned.
If it is not responding, you need to change the antibiotic as there might have development of resistance.
