Is Meibomian gland dysfunction completely curable with Doxycycline?

i have been diagnosed with mild meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and prescribed doxycycline 100mg and ocusoft lid scrubs to use for a month. Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K , an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having meibomian gland dysfunction.

The answer for your question is as follows.

1. Meibomian glands are glands of the eyelids which secrete lipid layer of the tear film.
2. These glands are essential for normal tear secretions.
3. It is a chronic condition but with treatment the severity will cone down, no need to worry.
3. Hence I advice you to continue treatment as advised by your ophthalmologist.

Hope this is helpful to you.
