Is Meftal Syrup Advisable For High Fever In A Child?
Hi.This is the 5th day of the fever, fever comes down during the day & is spiking up to 103 during the night time. I have just given calpol 5ml to my 4 year old kid but the fever is still 103 F, is it safe to give meftal or ibugesic syrup now or should I wait? Please suggest.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your kid is having symptoms of high fever which seems to be due to viral and co infection by bacterial organism and could be due to poor and compromised immunity of body.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get it examined. You should get blood tests redone and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should avoid giving your kid any cold beverages and any outside food. Give diet rich in fresh juices and fruits. Yes you can give Meftal syrup to child 3 ml dosage. You should give your child complete test and give plenty of water and fluids. You should take anti-allergic medication along with proper course of antibiotic along with Ibuprofen.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
