Is Meftal P The Right Medicine For Fever And Cold In A Child?

My son is 4 years old having couf & cold for last three days,for fever given crocin syrup,a couple of hours before his fever shoot to 103,given maftal p which supressed the fever,if same condition occurs can v give maftal p again?.is it safe to give?

Hello. Thanks for asking Healthcare Magic. It seems your son is suffering from an upper respiratory tract infection. Meftal P is usually given for abdominal pain. I would suggest to start with an antibiotic like amoxicillin 200mg/5ml, Give 5ml three times a day. You can give crocin syrup 5ml 4-5 times a day depending upon fever. You can give tepid sponging as well to reduce the fever. Keep him hydrated. Hope this helps. If you have any other queries/question please feel free to ask. Wish your son a speedy recovery.
