Is Lisinopril The Right Medicine For High BP And Dizziness?

my blood pressure is 97/65 it normally is around 130 s over 80 s.i felt light and dizzy.i have never felt this way before forehead feels sweaty.i am 70 years old I take Lisinopril 40 mg tablets one daily.i take metformin 100omg tablets twice daily.is there cause for concern that requires emergency room. email address is YYYY@YYYY

Hi,
Your blood pressure reading is quite low and that may be the reason you are feeling dizzy.
I would suggest you to lie down for few minutes and legs be placed in the position above your head using pillows or any such things. Also you can increase your fluid intake. This constitutes the immediate management of symptomatic low pressure.
If the above procedures does not decrease the symptoms, you can go to the emergency room for further evaluation.
If the above procedure decreases the symptoms, do measure the blood pressure periodically. If the symptoms recur or the blood pressure readings hovers around the present value for too long, you may need a reduction in dose of lisinopril. Do consult your physician at this point.
