Is Lamotrigine The Cause For Weight Gain?

I take 200mgs. Lamactrigine in morning & 100mgs at night, I have got a raging appetite, & just can t stop eating, & have gained LOTS of weight. I have been prescribed it to bolster up my anti-depressant Cymbalta, but feel that the Lamactrigine is causing my weight. I would like your opinion please.

Yes lamotigine can cause weight gain in 10 % cases.
It is anti seizure medication used in epilepsy and also used in bipolar disorder as a mood stabilizers.
Following are the common side effects of it:
Skin reaction
Dry mouth
Vision problem
Dizziness
Weight gain or loss
drowsiness
Difficulty in sleep
Cold, running nose
Nightmare
Indigestion
