Is Klonopin Or Risperidone The Cause Of Stomach Flu And Diarrhea?

Hi I believe to have the stomach flu or some type or virus/bug going around. I havent thrown up all day but still feel sick and have diahrea. I was wondering if i can take my any of my medications. Klonopin, xannax, or risperidone ? Please reply back. Thank you

Hi,

You can certainly continue with the medications namely Klonopin, Xanax and Risperidone as these need to be continued in spite of the problems of diarrhea and not feeling well.

Yes, it is possible that the diarrhea may be due to virus infection. It is best to go for the tests of stool and blood and if there is any bacterial infection go for a course of an antibiotic and Metronidazole. Also take probiotics and electrolyte solution to avoid dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Take pre and probiotics whatever the cause may be.

Consult your Doctor for confirmation about diagnosis, prescription based medications as well as a suggestion for continuation of the medications you wrote about.
